At Ummah Films, we believe in the Islamic concept of Sadaqah . . . charity, “You will not attain righteousness till you spend in charity of the things you love.”

This is not an exclusively Islamic idea – many of the world’s religions and societies encourage helping others. When we work to improve the world, even a small part of it, we all benefit on many levels in life. Even if our actions are small but consistent.

And we started small, and are consistently improving. Our first film, Tomorrow Never Comes was shot on a budget of just $700. As our audience grew, so did our budget – and our next film, Doctor, Director! enjoyed improved production quality with a budget that grew ten-fold to $7,000.

Of course, making a film that can truly compete in today’s market is very expensive, and we can’t reach our goal of revolutionizing entertainment alone. If you like what we did with a humble budget of $7,000, imagine what we can do with a budget of $100,000.

We need your support. Your resources combined with our tools, skills, and experience will help us create quality Halal entertainment with the high production value that’s needed to get wide distribution.

The process of submitting and financing films through private, business, and educational institutions is difficult and time consuming – and in most cases it can take years to get such assistance, if you get it at all. So we want to give the people the opportunity to participate in the process as producers on our projects.
